6-8th Graders Hear WWII Survivor & Family Stories

Recently, in their US History unit on WWII, Mrs. Brown’s 6-8th grade class went to the Cape Girardeau History Center where they heard stories from people were alive during WWII and people who had close family in the war. A few of the speakers brought relics from the time, and the students also had the chance to ask questions.

This field trip was an excellent example of the kind of learning our students do! If possible, we prefer to seek out the people who lived through history as opposed to simply having our students read about it.
