Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences are in full swing. We are dedicating this time for you to meet and discuss your child’s progress in person Each teacher will send their specific information with available time slots. If you have multiple children, please coordinate conference times with the teachers. We encourage you not to miss this opportunity to learn more about how your child is progressing at PLA.
As with most educational environments, parent teacher conferences at PLA are held to connect the teacher and parent as well as come together in a more formal setting to discuss your child’s progress spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Please be prayerfully considering any questions that you may want to ask. Also, note that we believe the parents are the first and most important teacher of the child and we look forward to working with you in partnership to create the best possible situation for your child. It is our pleasure to work together with you throughout the school year.
Once again, our philosophy is to always be available (within reason) and open to growth opportunities for students, while communicating such to parents to create the most beneficial learning environment for your child.
Showings Gods Love
Prodigy Leadership Academy was blessed with a donation and a challenge at Christmas time to share the love of Jesus in the community. Our students were given the opportunity to brainstorm ways that they could show people how Jesus is LOVE. Each class came up with ideas and then had the opportunity to follow through with the idea.
Here are just a few of the ways our classes were able to bless the community by showing God’s love. One class supported a family with eight children and provided presents for Christmas. Another class decided to support a child from another country. Foster families and children have needs at Hope for One More and one of our classes thought that would be a great way to show love by purchasing pajamas. The Humane Society was blessed with treats and toys for the animals. Some students made gift baskets and delivered them to random people to bless them. One class went out to lunch and for ice cream, then tipping the service people with nice tips. A baby swing was purchased for a single mother and her new baby as well as other random acts of kindness. One class honored first responders–police and firefighters by blessings them-showing them kindness and appreciation.
One class made the decision to bless restaurants that bless PLA through PTO fundraising events by giving back. The students bought cookie trays from Sam’s club and delivered them to several restaurants in town for the employees. The reaction was amazing as those people making pizzas or serving food are not often recognized. However, just as you did it unto the least of these, you did it me…scripture. The students were overjoyed at being able to bless and they decided to take the remainder of the gift and just give a monetary gift to a couple of the people God put on their hearts while they were out delivering cookies. The reaction was amazing! Bless others and you will be blessed.
