Spiritual Formation

Faith is not a subject to study at Prodigy. It’s core to everything we do.

Every child is uniquely created by God with purpose and potential. Our job is to help them grow into the people He made them to be, not just academically, but spiritually, emotionally, and relationally—and spiritual formation is woven through all of it.

Faith in every moment

A Christ-centered environment

At Prodigy, faith is not a class period or a chapel requirement. It is the culture. Our goal is that everything we do and say reflects the belief that God is present in every moment of learning and that His Word speaks into every subject.

Students are not just taught about Christianity, but to see the world through the lens of Scripture, to wrestle honestly with hard questions, to engage in deep discussion with one another, and to understand that their identity is rooted in Christ regardless of life circumstances.

How the day begins

Daily Devotionals and Prayer

Each day at Prodigy begins with devotion and prayer. Students open God’s Word together, reflect on what it means for their lives, and bring the day before the Lord before anything else happens. These moments are the tone-setting center of a Prodigy school day, and students carry them into everything that follows.

Every week, the whole school

All-School Worship

Once a week, every student and teacher at Prodigy gathers for all-school worship. They sing together, hear from God’s Word together, and are reminded together of what this community is ultimately about. It is one of the most distinctive things about life at Prodigy, and one of the things families consistently say they are most grateful for.

Worship happens outdoors when weather permits, which means there are mornings when almost two hundred students and their teachers are standing on a hillside in the Missouri sunshine, voices lifted, before the school day gets underway. It is hard to describe. It is worth coming to see.

Faith in action

Service and Outreach

We believe that faith is not just something you hold. It is something you live. Prodigy students engage in regular service projects and community outreach throughout the year, learning firsthand what it looks like to love their neighbors in practical, tangible ways.

For our high schoolers, that includes mission trips that take them beyond Cape Girardeau (as far as Honduras!) and challenge them to carry their faith into the wider world. These experiences shape students in ways that no classroom can, and the students who go rarely come back unchanged.

Strong minds, compassionate hearts

Developing Christlike character

Academic growth matters deeply at Prodigy, and so does character development. Our teachers and staff model kindness, integrity, patience, and humility every day as a way of life. Students watch the adults around them and learn what it looks like to lead with grace and live with conviction.

As students grow, they are given increasing opportunities to lead, to serve, and to influence the culture of the school around them. We want graduates who are not just academically prepared but spiritually grounded and ready to make an impact for God’s glory wherever they go.

Walking alongside families

Spiritual formation is a partnership.

Spiritual formation does not begin and end at the campus gate. It is something that happens in homes, in churches, and in the daily rhythms of family life. At Prodigy, we see ourselves as partners with parents in that work, not replacements for it.

From grandparents joining all-school worship to one-on-one prayer between a teacher and a parent, we invite families into the spiritual life of the school. We also encourage every Prodigy family to be rooted in a local church, because we believe the school and the church were always meant to work together.

A legacy of faith and learning

What we hope every student carries with them.

When a student leaves Prodigy after 3K or after 12th grade, we hope they carry more than knowledge and skills. We hope they carry a deep and settled faith, a love for God’s Word, a heart for others, and the confidence that comes from knowing who they are in Christ.

That is what we are building here. One student, one year, one day at a time.

Get Started

Come see it for yourself.

Spiritual formation is one of those things that is better experienced than described. We would love to have you visit campus, sit in on a morning devotion, and see the culture of Prodigy firsthand.
